I can’t believe it’s already Week 3 of the One Room Challenge! Time is flying by! You may notice that there’s been a change in my design plan.

Do you spot it? I had originally planned to use this super cute rug from Target. I bought it and laid it out on the floor, and it was too small. I also noticed that after I painted the laundry room a brighter white, White Heron by Sherwin Williams, the flooring looked yellow. There were two options-buy a larger rug and rug pad to keep it from slipping, or look into new flooring. A larger rug with pad would be a very temporary fix, I was having trouble finding one the odd size that I needed, and it ended up that using Floor Pops peel and stick tiles cost less than a new rug!

Floor Pops comes in so many great patterns that it was hard to choose. It really came down to what was in stock. I chose the pattern Comet, and am so smitten with it! Floor Pops can be found here on Amazon, at Joann Fabrics , in store at Hobby Lobby and at wallpops.com. I purchased mine at Joann Fabrics because they allow coupons to be used on them. I was able to use a 40% or 50% off coupon on each box, bringing the total down to $10.00 to $12.00 a box! That’s $1.00-$1.20 per square foot. You just about can’t beat that price for flooring!

Besides the flooring, I am really trying to tweak and re-use what I already have. We had three of these industrial looking chrome wire baskets in our laundry room, but I wanted to give them a new look. Spray paint is my best friend for a quick, easy, and cheap re-do! I chose Rustoleum flat black and I absolutely love the way they turned out! I also sprayed chrome shelf brackets that I already had, and a shiny canister jar lid.

By next week the flooring should be done! There is still some drywall repair and baseboards to replace, and hopefully that will get done next week as well! Do I dare show how this room began? It was pretty bad!

I hope you enjoyed Week 3 of my Laundry Room Makeover for the One Room Challenge! Good job/idea on the peel and stick floor tiles! Can’t wait to see the finished look.
Thanks so much, Tana! It was such an affordable and easy option!
I can’t wait for next week !
Me neither! Thanks for the reply! I’m checking yours out next!
Like!! I blog frequently and I really thank you for your content. The article has truly peaked my interest.
Thank you so much. I appreciate your kind comment.
I really do love the Floor Pops tiles you chose. The pattern is so adorable. That was also such a smart tip about using a coupon at Joann. So this really was both a cute and thrifty upgrade!
Thanks! It’s been about a year, and the Floor Pops are still going strong! They are surprisingly hearty as I’ve had to drag my washer and dryer out a bunch of times, and they are unscathed!
