Earlier in the year, my poor old laundry room got a little makeover. You have to see the before. It was bad! SOOO bad!!! We had some drywall damage repaired, replaced the baseboards, painted the old soul, and installed this super cute peel and stick tile. You can find the directions on how I installed the tile (myself!) here. It was very easy! The black and white theme just begged to have a little Christmas cheer! I hope you enjoy my laundry room makeover-Christmas edition!

Shop Your Home
Look no further than you own Christmas stash to spruce up a plain area! For my laundry room, I knew I wanted some pops of red, and anything else that would pop against the black and white. I shopped my house and pulled out anything that I thought would go. Most of the items on these shelves came from the Target Dollar Spot over the years. The little ornaments were borrowed from my kids’ trees. Don’t tell them! Ornaments are great little accessories to use in decorating shelves or trays.

Use Fabric
Scraps of flannel plaid from past Christmas crafts were used to fill buckets and add some softness. I rolled up a scrap and stuck it in the sleigh, and just had some draping out of a cleaning bucket.

Embellish
Picks and berries, pillows, and throws are such an easy way to add Christmas cheer to any place in your home! I add picks and berries to anything I can think of!

Wreaths, wreaths, and more wreaths are another simple way to add Christmas cheer! When I don’t have a wreath, I just take a large pick or branch, bend it around, wire it together, and add a bow and some berries!

Each year, I pick up a few trees and containers, mostly from the Target Dollar Spot, to add to my collection. Trees are sprinkled all over my home! My kids made this pom pom garland a few years ago with large pom poms and chenille yarn. I would love to get some red pom poms!

I hope this laundry room makeover-Christmas edition inspires you to decorate a space in your home that you wouldn’t normally decorate! It’s so easy, and you don’t have to spend any money if you shop your home! What room are you going to decorate?

Your idea to shop from home first was so smart and budget savvy. I am always running across decor items I have forgotten about or that have not been used in awhile.
Thanks so much, Heidi! I always try to shop my home first-I have so much junk!
