Christmas Decor Trend #1-Bells, bells, and more bells!!!
From Pottery Barn to Dollar Tree, bells are everywhere this Christmas! You can string them on your tree, put them in garland, hang them on a wreath, hang them on the wall, and put them in a big bowl! Use them to embellish your existing decor, or buy a ready made piece with bells.
Christmas Decor Trend #2-Green is the new red!!!
While red will probably always be in style, green is coming in strong this year! We’re seeing it in tartan plaids, ribbons, pillows, and even wrapping paper! You probably already have green ornaments! An easy way to incorporate more green into your Christmas decor is just to pull out more of the green ornaments than the red ones this year, and maybe add a ribbon with green in it on your tree! You can also add a pillow with some green. I just got in these green velvet pillow covers from Amazon, and they are gorgeous! And so reasonably priced! You can order them below if you click on the picture.

Christmas Decor Trend #3-Minimalistic
Less is sometimes more. This year, we’re seeing a more minimalist style when it comes to Christmas decor. It can be as simple as placing less ornaments on the tree and letting the beautiful pine show through. Or having just a simple greenery garland with a few candles on a mantle. The Scandanavian look is also part of this minimalist trend. Think neutral tones, wood elements, and basic shapes. House of Jade Interiors has quickly become one of my most favorite accounts on Instagram, and they illustrate the minimalist Christmas decor trend beautifully! In fact, they incorporate several of the new Christmas decor trends beautifully!!!
Christmas Decor Trend #4-An ode to Nostalgia
What’s old is new again! We’re seeing velvet ribbon, vintage Christmas bells, a more classic vintage look to wreaths, and nostalgic looking Christmas trees. Bottle brush trees originated in the 1930s, and boy are they making a come back! You can find them from the dollar stores up to boutique shops, ranging in price from $1-$99+! The trend this year is to use more neutral toned bottle brush trees.

Christmas Decor Trend #5-Metallics!
Brass, gold, and silver have always been classics for Christmas decor. This year, we’re seeing copper incorporated, as well as mixing all of the metals! Spray paint is an easy way to give some of your existing decor a new mixed metallic look! I’ve been spray painting some of my existing decorations, as well as some from the dollar store with this gold and copper spray paint!
Christmas Decor Trend #6-Window Pane Plaid
With the trends going to a more simplistic style in Christmas decor, it’s no surprise that plaid has been paired down, too! Window pane is just a print, similar to plaid, but in a pattern like the panes of a window.
Christmas Decor Trends #7-Christmas Tree Collars
Christmas tree collars have been out for a few years now, and they are making a bigger splash than ever in Christmas decor! You can read all about Christmas tree collars here, and why they are the Christmas decor you didn’t know you needed!!!
