Isn’t Valentine’s Day just the sweetest little holiday? I love to decorate for it, but I don’t love to spend a lot of money on it! You can make this sweet little heart wreath with materials from the dollar store!

Valentine’s Day is such a fun holiday to decorate for. But I don’t like to spend a lot of money on cutesy holidays like this! The decor only stays up for a short while. To save money decorating for any holiday, I go through my craft and decor stash to see what I can use. This beautiful heart wreath only cost me a few dollars to make! I found a wire heart frame and some pretty blush florals at the dollar store. I added some eucalyptus greenery from my stash, and put it all together!

Before heading out to the store to buy things for a project, always shop your stash first! I had purchased these florals last spring from the dollar store, and had a bunch of eucalyptus greens. Truth be told, I already had the wire form as well, I just never got around to using it. I made this project entirely from what I already had, but all of the materials are still available in stores.

*When purchasing greenery for wreaths, it is usually more cost-effective to purchase a swag versus bunches of greenery. You will get more greenery for less cost, especially if it is on sale! A swag is also far easier to affix to a wire form than individual bunches!

Heart shaped wire wreath frame
Florals

Step 1-Add greenery to heart wreath form
Be sure that you have enough greenery to go around the wire form. Affix the end of the swag to the apex of the heart, with either floral wire, or hot glue.

Step 2
Affix the greenery periodically as you go around the wreath. When finished, the wreath up and do a little shake to be sure that everything is securely on. If not, secure again as needed.

Step 3
Go back in and fill in the bare spots with a variety of different greenery or more of the same.

Tip
I have been making wreaths for YEARS, and I just discovered this fabulous technique!!! Take a floral, and glue a few different leaves to it, as if you were making a little corsage. Then affix it onto the wreath! It is much quicker and easier to do this in clusters, and it uses up more blank space on the wreath!

I made four of these clusters, and then attached them somewhat evenly spaced around the heart wreath.
Step 4
Continue filling in any blank spaces, and holding the wreath up periodically to be sure everything is secured well.
Voila!!! For just a little bit of time, and only a few dollars, you can make this beautiful dollar store heart wreath!
